| Master Class I 2009 - Partly Surface |
|
Marc Fornes will teach how to get the most from RhinoScript starting from the basics (operators and functions, conditions, arrays) to the final analysis, description, reconstruction and tessellation of NURBS surfaces. |

Marc Fornes, Marc Fornes, Architect DPLG, is the founder of THEVERYMANY, www.theverymany.net, a design studio and collaborative research forum engaging the field of architecture via encoded and explicit processes. In 2004 he graduated with a Master of Architecture and Urbanism from the Design Research Lab of the Architectural Association in London after having previously studied in France and Sweden. Marc’s work experience in France, La Reunion and UK includes Zaha Hadid Architects, where he was the project architect, from competition to tender documentation, for an experimental Mediatheque in Pau. During his three years on this project he directed the material research and geometrical development for the largest self-supported carbon fibre shell to date. Marc has led workshops and appeared as a guest critic at the Architectural Association, The Royal College of Art, Pratt Institute, Columbia University and the University of Pennsylvania. |
| Master Class II 2009 - BIM and Building Performance Analysis (ECOTECT) |
|
This class covers workflows required for the effective and efficient use of building information models (BIM) for detailed performative design. It considers the kinds of BIM data required for different types of analysis as well as the most appropriate methods for exporting that data to the wide range of simulation and analysis tools needed for informed design decision-making. The main focus will be on workflows between Ecotect Analysis, Autodesk Revit Architecture, Revit MEP, Green Building Studio, 3DS Max Design and other simulation tools. |

Andrew Marsh , Dr. Andrew Marsh is an architect, building science researcher, environmental design consultant and software programmer. Andrew studied architecture at The University of Western Australia and received his PhD there. He then worked as a lecturer in architectural science and computing at The University of Western Australia and later as a research fellow at Cardiff University in the United Kingdom. He has been a consultant on many international design projects and, as co-founder of Square One research, developed a wide range of educational and building analysis software - including Ecotect which was recently acquired by Autodesk. Andrew is now principal software engineer at AEC-Simulation in Autodesk. |
